About US

The El Paso Border Youth Athletic Association (EPBYAA)

softpitchis a non-profit athletic organization established in the summer of 2000. Founder Dr. Dwayne Aboud initiated this venture to fill a void he felt in his community — to rekindle the spirit of youth baseball in El Paso.

"Baseball has been an El Paso tradition since the organization of our first professional team in 1892. Unfortunately support for baseball in El Paso has dwindled and the city’s facilities are substandard at best. -Dr. Aboud

Healthy Living

Of course, the health benefits of a youth baseball and softball league did not pass unnoticed by Dr. Aboud, who had previously noted that childhood obesity and diabetes rates in El Paso youth were on the rise at a rate exceeding the national average. The EPBYAA brings a healthy alternative to the video game and sedentary lifestyle of today’s youth, as well as providing valuable leadership experience.

Steps Toward the Future

Currently, we are working on the completion of a brand new, state-of-the-art outdoor baseball complex that will allow El Paso’s youth to better realize and refine its talents — and with better facilities and more developed talent will come more recognition from school recruiters and professional scouts. It’s a process that starts today and continues far into El Paso’s future.

The El Paso Border Youth Athletic Association was developed to help local youth succeed by way of athletic programs, training and facilities — and these endeavors require capitol for development, materials and operation.

As a non-profit organization, we look to our fellow community members for help wherever possible. Donations are all tax deductible and may even qualify you or your business for additional tax credits.

There are several ways help the EPBYAA meet its goal for a healthier, more successful El Paso community.

  • Capital funding – We graciously accept donations from area business interests and private donors
  • Project development – Foundations and private donors are welcome to partner with the EPBYAA in development
  • Continuing operations – We routinely hold scheduled fundraising activities and games, and any proceeds we collect from concessions, admissions, etc. benefit the EPBYAA’s mission
  • Indoor training facility – The membership dues, private and semi-private lessons, rental fees, coaching and training clinics all offered at The Base, our indoor softball and baseball facility, also benefit the EPBYAA

If you would like to get in contact with the EPBYAA directly regarding any of our donation programs, simply call us today! 915-603-8910

We’ve just completed a brand new indoor softball and baseball training facility called The Base, and future projects are fast developing. We already have a new outdoor softball/baseball complex in the works with even more amenities to come!
